Per the suggestion of one of our members, please add a "rider profile" here. This would be a good place to look if you're interested in finding someone with similar interests/riding styles that you may want to get in touch with. I'll start:

Name: Eric Crandell

Riding styles/interests: Some MTB, but primarily road rides of medium to long distances. Basically, if you're going "touring" around the city, up in the mountains, etc, count me in. Of course - if there's a laid back, all day XC MTB ride going out, I'm all over that too.

Experience: Intermediate MTB, First year road rider, but I ride so much I think I'm progressing pretty quickly. :) I would love to attempt simple/moderate racing in the near future as well.

What I'd like to learn/know more about: Always interested in learning more maintenance and repair. Would like to learn more about group dynamics for group road rides. While I have ridden with small groups a few times, I've typically been a solo rider. I'd like to learn more about group dynamics, specifically in areas where constant signals are beneficial (traffic) as well as group etiquette (such as how to behave/where to be in a pace-line)

My bikes:

MTB: FS Ibex Asta X-9, Hardtail Specialized HRXC
Road: Trek 2.1 with custom build-up (full Ultegra group), Jamis Quest LE Reynolds 830 steel (for sale in the Classified forum), LeMond Buenos Aires with carbon/steel frame
Other: Cannondale Road Warrior (for commuting, bumping around base, running quick errands, etc
Wanted: Looking at a Trek Soho S single speed. Why? Why not! Also thinking about an Independent Fabrications custom steel road frame ($$$).

Welcome to the site. Right now is the time for mountain biking while the trails are dry and fast. Keep an eye on the sight as there are quite a bit or rides posted. Look forward to riding with you.

Riding style: not a ton of hills. I ride fixed gear only now for the last 6 months or so. Built up 5 or so bikes in that time and sold a few, kept a few
I like riding with road guys because I have to push myself harder to keep up since I have one gear and no freewheel. I find it rathe challenging and Fun. I used to ride Dow hill, but a cracked rib at fujimi and blackout later the wife said I had to stop....but that was such gnarly air!

Bikes
1985 bridgestone radac fixed converted
2009 mercir kilo tt stripper(for sale)
2009 trx250 random aero frame, but the parts are what makes it awesome. There are only a few hundred of my cranksets in existance, my favorite part of it!

Anyways, now that I'm out of the military I have more time to look out for me and my fitness goals, and I have a way to go yet!

I started riding MTB bikes about two years ago after racing motocross for 8 years and blowing out my knee. During my recovery I put on about 100 LBS (seriously) and needed to work it off. MTB biking seemed like a natural transition, however not having a throttle to power my fat but up hills soon became a problem.
It was suggested that I start road riding to increase my MTB climbing which brought me here and after two knee operations I ride more road now than MTN.
I hate climbing hills, but it's a necessary evil and can't tell you how many times I wanted to kill the leader of the daily ride for choosing the route.

Rides:
MTN: 2009 Specialized epic
Road: 2009 Pinarello FP-3

Goals: Be back to 160 LBS by the end of summer (2010, if the knee is finally fixed) and man handle this years live strong event and finish a mini triathlon. (some day)
