I would recommend the Fizik Antares. It is the best extreme
lightweight class saddle. I've tried many other lightweight
saddles and this is the only one that remains comfortable
after the breaking-in time; but do keep in mind everybody's
different. Eric has the saddle also and he agrees on the comfort.
We just rode a 70 mile ride Sunday and faired well with the
Antares.

Anyone use brooks saddles? I use one on my old commuter bike, it's a heavy one with the springs, but I've heard good things on the road bike narrower ones as well...any experience?

Might be heavier but a happy but might be worth it for longer ride. lol

the advantage to brooks apparently is that it molds to your booty. BUT it takes forever apparently to do it. so as long as you can rough it for a while, its supposed to be great. i know tons of guys that swear by them in the fixed gear world.

I would second the Brooks for a very comfortable saddle. I have one that is 28 years old and others that are newer. Break-in is not as bad as some like to say and you can even buy one that comes somewhat softened. They are great for touring and long distance riding as well as commuting. They are very heavy, leather and steel. Even the ti ones are heavy. I have cut the skirts off a few to say a few grams.

For a good lightweight saddle, I recently discovered the line of saddles from Charge, a British company with very reasonable prices. The Knife is their lightweight "racing" saddle. I have ridden my Knife for a year now and my back side is very happy. The price is about half the "Selle" saddles and the product very well made. Worth the risk for me. It was rated 9/10 in Cycling Plus.

Wiggle.com, a British cycle superstore, carries them and is FPO AP friendly. :D
